In a clever promotional move for the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live, rising pop star Sabrina Carpenter has stepped into the stilettos of one of television’s most beloved characters – Carrie Bradshaw from the beloved series Sex and the City.
The playful sketch features Carpenter channeling the signature voice-over narration and mannerisms of Carrie, but this time, she’s navigating the bustling backstage of the iconic sketch comedy show. «New York is a big apple, and I’m taking a bite,» Carpenter quips as Carrie, strutting through the SNL offices.
Carpenter’s Carrie also hilariously interacts with other cast members, at one point mistaking the Latino comedian Marcello Hernández for Carrie’s on-again, off-again love interest, «Mr. Big.» As Carrie ponders her new surroundings, the other SNL stars look on in bewilderment. «What is she writing?» asks Tommy Brennan, to which Sherman replies, «No idea. The computer isn’t even turned on.»
The clever parody not only showcases Carpenter’s comedic talents, but also serves as a tantalizing preview of the upcoming Lollapalooza Chile 2026 lineup, where she will be joining the likes of Lorde, Deftones, Chappell Roan, Tyler the Creator, and Skrillex as a headliner.
