According to the latest Panel Ciudadano UDD survey, published this Saturday, José Antonio Kast has displaced Jeannette Jara from the top spot in the presidential race. Meanwhile, Evelyn Matthei remains in third place.

Kast, the candidate for the Republican Party, obtained 25% of the vote, the same result as in the previous poll. Jara, the standard-bearer of the Unidad por Chile pact, dropped three points and ended up with 24% of the preferences. Matthei, the representative of Chile Vamos, rose one point and reached 17%.

Runoff Scenarios: Jara Loses to Both Kast and Matthei

According to the Panel Ciudadano UDD data, Jeannette Jara would not be able to defeat either José Antonio Kast or Evelyn Matthei in a runoff election.

In the first case, the official candidate would obtain 31% of the preferences, against 46% for Kast. 23% declared that they do not know, will vote null, or will not vote.

While if her rival were the Chile Vamos candidate, Jara would reach 29%, compared to 46% for Matthei, with 24% who do not know, will not vote, or will annul their vote.

Shifting Tides in the Chilean Presidential Race

The latest Panel Ciudadano UDD survey highlights the dynamic nature of the Chilean presidential election, with José Antonio Kast emerging as the frontrunner and Jeannette Jara facing an uphill battle against both Kast and Evelyn Matthei in potential runoff scenarios. As the campaign continues, voters will be closely watching the evolving political landscape and the strategies employed by the candidates to sway the electorate.
