Tonka Tomicic Breaks Silence: Explains Payments to Leonarda Villalobos in Audio Case Formalization
This Friday, former TV host Tonka Tomicic addressed the Audio case, after being mentioned during the third day of formalization at the Justice Center. Recall that in the proceedings, the Prosecutor’s Office accused Tomicic of making multi-million-dollar transfers to the defendant for tax crimes, bribery, and money laundering, Leonarda Villalobos.
The Prosecutor’s Allegations
According to the prosecutor, the former TV personality was a client of Luis Hermosilla for advisory services related to the Watches case, and in parallel, she was working with Villalobos on tax matters. Prosecutor Miguel Ángel Orellana explained that the fact was proven thanks to a message from Hermosilla to Villalobos, in which the lawyer asked for the key of the Internal Revenue Service of Diamond, which is owned by Tomicic.
Tonka Tomicic’s Version
In a statement published by Emol, the former host stated that as is publicly known, I maintained a legal dispute with Mrs. Gladys González Núñez in case Role C-7879-2021 of the 22nd Civil Court of Santiago. She further explained that that civil trial ended through a transaction signed by public deed dated December 16, 2021. In said transaction, my counterpart, Mrs. González Núñez, was represented by the lawyer María Leonarda Villalobos Mütter.
Tomicic added that by virtue of that agreement, I was obliged to pay a certain sum of money to Mrs. Gladys González Núñez, agreeing to the service of that obligation in installments. She then assured that at the request of my counterpart and as stipulated in the transaction deed, the payments had to be made by deposit or transfer to a bank current account of the company Steuern SpA owned by the lawyer Villalobos, so that the latter would receive said payments on behalf of her client, Mrs. Gladys González.
Conclusion
Finally, Tomicic stated that these payments correspond to part of those that I made by virtue of the aforementioned transaction and that Mrs. Villalobos received as a lawyer for my counterpart in that already completed trial. This statement aims to clarify the financial dealings between Tonka Tomicic and Leonarda Villalobos, shedding light on the controversial Audio case.
