In the aftermath of Real Madrid’s 1-4 victory over Levante, the young Brazilian sensation Vinicius Junior analyzed his stunning goal, scored with the outside of his right foot, and revealed that his former teammate, Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, had been the one to teach him this technique.
«Luka Modric taught me; we miss him. I’m very happy with the match. We did very well from the start in pressing and possession. If we play like this, we will always win,» Vinicius said on RealMadrid TV.
The 22-year-old forward, who has now scored seven goals against Levante in eight encounters, described the strike as «one of the most beautiful» he has ever scored. «Hopefully I can keep scoring goals like this. This is a great goal and I’m happy with that,» he added.
Vinicius acknowledged the difficulty of the away fixture, but noted his consistent scoring record at the Ciutat de València stadium. «It’s a very difficult field, but every time I come here I score goals. Facing the derby that’s coming up… we’ve won all the matches and we want to keep it that way. We’re really looking forward to the derby, now it’s time to rest and enjoy the victory, and hopefully we can win on Saturday,» he said.
The Brazilian star also highlighted the keys to Real Madrid’s impressive start to the season, with seven wins in seven matches (six in La Liga and one in the Champions League).
«The defense, the unity, and the teamwork. If we continue like this, we can achieve a lot of success this season,» Vinicius concluded.
