In a day filled with history, emotion, and nostalgia, Colo Colo’s legends took the field at the Estadio Monumental to face off against the legends of Alianza Lima. This match was much more than just a football game – it was a tribute to the decades-long fraternity that has united these two storied clubs.

In a pulsating encounter at Pedrero, the home side emerged victorious by a score of 2-1, thanks to a late penalty converted by Gonzalo Fierro, sparking wild celebrations among the thousands of Colo Colo fans in attendance.

Riffo and Fierro Lead the Way

The hosts struck first, with a well-worked team move culminating in Esteban Paredes – in vintage form – providing a precise pass for Miguel Riffo to head home the opening goal.

But Alianza Lima were not there just to make up the numbers. Early in the second half, they equalized with a moment of real quality, as a cross from the byline was met with a clinical header by Junior Viza, beating Eduardo Lobos.

Just when it seemed the match would end in a draw, a foul inside the area gave Colo Colo the opportunity to seal the victory. Fierro, a symbol of the «popular» club, stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the corner to make it 2-1 and cap off the celebrations.

A Fitting Finale to the Centenary Tour

In addition to the goalscorers, the winning Colo Colo side featured other legendary figures such as Álvaro Ormeño, Luis Mena, Rodolfo Madrid, Arturo Sanhueza, Rodrigo Meléndez, Jaime Valdés, and Manuel Neira. The coaches were Jaime Pizarro and Marcelo Barticciotto.

With this victory, Colo Colo brought the curtain down on their Centenary tour, reinforcing the historic relationship with their Peruvian counterparts in a match dubbed the «Classic of Brotherhood».
